Ford’s Mustang-inspired electric SUV will arrive next year
A Ford executive has revealed that the company’s somewhat cryptic tweet issued prior to Tesla’s Model Y build-up indeed refers to its upcoming electric SUV.

Ford President of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, added that we can expect to see the Mustang-inspired EV in showrooms around the same time as the Model Y, meaning late next year.
Tesla will sell the Model Y for a minimum of $US39,000, with higher end variants asking up to $60k. We’ll learn more about Ford’s offering as we get closer to its launch.
All we know at the moment is that Ford’s newcomer will be performance-oriented and travel for more than 480km on one charge. Its name won’t be Mach 1 either, as Ford initially planned.
