Mazda anniversary cars here soon
To mark Mazda’s 100th year in business, the company has rolled out a range of Anniversary Edition models.
These will start here at $31,895 for the Mazda2. The specials feature a design theme that pays homage to Mazda’s first passenger vehicle, the 1960 R360 Coupe.
All Anniversary Editions will feature Snowflake White Pearl exterior paint, the 100th Anniversary exterior badge and wheel caps, burgundy leather seat trim with 100th Anniversary headrest logo, and red floor carpet and floor mats with 100th Anniversary aluminium branding. There’s also a unique key fob and special edition lower instrument panel trim along with white door trim inserts.
Mazda New Zealand has been allocated a total of 100 of these special vehicles and each model will be available at different times between August 2020 and January 2021.
With every 100th Anniversary Edition vehicle sold, Mazda New Zealand will purchase 50 trees from the Trees That Count programme to plant in the “Mazda Native Forest”.
Mazda NZ says: “This is a great initiative and builds on the work we have done planting trees at schools with Project Crimson since 2008 via the Mazda Foundation’s TREEmendous School Programme. More recently Mazda’s association with Trees That Count has seen a further 50,000 trees planted throughout New Zealand.”
The prices for the 100th Anniversary Edition models are $58,495 for the Mazda6 and $60,195 for the wagon, the CX-5 is $62,995, CX-8 goes for $66,890 and MX-5 starts from $51,095. Special 100th editions will also be available for the Mazda3, CX-3 and CX-30 ranges, though they are listed POA at present.
