LDV’s new G10+ van already a local hit
LDV has announced a new variant of its G10 commercial van — the G10+ — packing a new powertrain, more refinement, and added features.
While its exterior is unchanged relative to the rest of the G10 line-up, there’s plenty under the skin that’s new in the plus.
Chiefly, it comes with a new-to-the-model 2.0-litre turbodiesel, producing 118kW of power and rated for 8.2L/100km combined cycle economy. This is paired to an eight-speed paddle-shift automatic sourced from ZF — a transmission option set to replace the six-speeds fitted to the rest of the line-up.
“A more powerful and efficient diesel engine combined with a modern 8-speed ZF transmission makes a tough day of pick-ups and drop-off that bit easier,” says Dinesh Chinnappa, LDV Australia general manager.
“The new G10+ is quieter, more refined and better value than ever. If your office must be mobile, the G10+ is more than capable.”
Beyond the mechanical stuff, the G10+ also gets an updated cabin. There’s a new rotary gear selector for the transmission, new materials used on certain surfaces, and improvements to noise, vibration, and harshness.
For those cross-shopping based on hauling room, the G10+ (and the standard G10s, for that matter) offers 5.2m3 of space in the back, capable of a 1093kg payload. The load area features multiple tie-down points, four lights for loading in the dark, and tough floor covering under foot.
Speaking to NZ Autocar, an LDV New Zealand spokesperson confirmed that the G10+ would also be offered on Kiwi soil. The model has already been something of a sales success; the spokesperson confirming that the first shipment has already been pre-sold.
